WHY???
Research shows that suicide is preventable.
The #1 prevention for suicide is community and connection.
Research by NIMH also shows the people are the most vulnerable to died by suicide 3 months after a period of improvement. This is the gap we are working to fill.
According to the CDC:
-
1 in 5 adults experience a mental illness in a given year.
-
1 in 25 Americans lives with a serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression.
-
Suicide as cause of death in Colorado was #1 for ages 10-14 and #2 for ages 15-44 in 2019
Education saves lives! We are saving lives through education and making hard conversations easy.
